| 内容記述 | During the Northern Wei period, the location of one’s burial site was an important matter. Whether it was placed near the capital city or in one’s hometown (xiang-li 郷里) might even have influenced one’s fundamental existence as a bureaucrat. Epitaphic analysis of burial sites shows a considerable locational difference between before and after the transfer of the capital to Luoyang 洛陽. Before the move, most bureaucrats desired their burial sites to be located in the capital of Dai 代; after the establishment of Pingqi-Jun 平斉郡, that location was even legally restricted to around the capital city. On the other hand, after the move, a bureaucrat was allowed have his burial site constructed in his xiang-li, although he had lived in the capital of Luoyang during most of his lifetime. Therefore, burial sites can be classified into the two locations, near Luoyang and xiang-li.For example, the Qinghe Cui 清河崔, Bohai Gao 渤海高, Hongnong Yang 弘農楊 and Henei Sima 河内司馬 families chose to be buried in their respective xiang-li, while the Anding Hu 安定胡, Shanggu Kou 上谷寇, Longxi Li 扇西李 and Langye Wang 瓊邪王 families chose places near the capital city. Such locational differences in their burial sites have been thought to be associated with each family’s political views. Aristocrats tended to take the trouble to have their corpses transferred to their xiang-li, while bureaucratic families showed a tendency to choose locations around their dwellings near the capital. | |||||||||||
